It’s really has been about community, and getting to know people who have similar things that are important to them. Yeah- we might not all have the same political view, or go to the same church- but we all meet about one of the most important things in our lives- relationships, family, and friendships.

Great post man. I didn’t know what to think when I started my blog. I had one failed attempt with an nfl blog that I intended to make money with, but I lost focus. The cool thing about what we do as parent bloggers is that community. I loved what Ron said in his post and it is definitely worth the effort. It has been great learning more about everyone and I appreciate the connection we’ve made.

This was great and I completely agree with you on so many levels. As a stay-at-home dad, I have found and made so many friends during down times at home just from trolling through blog after blog and the people I found were genuine, interesting cool people. I for one am very glad I started blogging and it’s so cool that I feel like I friends across the country not to mention the world because of it.

Great post. I completely agree.

One of the things I find far to easy is to neglect the community. With all the great dad (and mom) bloggers I think it’s easy to get spread too thin and try to build too large of a circle of friends.

Blogging is fun and interactive. If I could find a way to make money money without sacrificing that or the integrity of my posts, I’d be there in a minute. Until then, I’m having fun and meeting people that I otherwise wouldn’t and making real friends. It’s why I am looking forward to the dad-blogs convention so much.

I started on MySpace as a ranter. Then moved to blogger with the dream of making money and did the same things you said you did. And found out about the dad community. I’ve been here since.
