What’s In A Name?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Saturday, we went to the Denver area to see what this People to People thing is all about. If you’ve missed it in previous posts, Kat received a nomination to a People to People delegation to Australia. The mailings we’ve received say things like ‘cuddle with a koala!’ and ‘swim a corral reef!’ so we were certainly curious. The informational meeting certainly peeked my interest. Kat will not only be given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but also will come back with 120 hours of elective social studies credits, which looks great on a college resume.

Tiger Woods: Family Man

Tiger Woods: Family Man

The other night, after a very long, very hard day of work, I found myself on the half hour drive home without the radio on. My head was swimming in thoughts of a better life. There has to be a better solution, I found myself thinking. There has to be a better way…

I have fallen victim to looking for ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes before. I don’t think there’s anyone out there that hasn’t entertained the idea of a quick fix to the financial blues. Short of robbing a bank, good natured people buy lottery tickets, go to ‘network marketing’ seminars, and swear if they just blog a little longer, those Google ads will start to pay off…

The AT&T Debacle Continued…

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

att_your_world_destroyedAs those of you that follow me on twitter and facebook know, I now have a long-standing full-on war with AT&T. This war is one of the major contributors to the sporadic blogging that comes from me. I thought that I would post what was going on here, so that it might serve as a warning for my readers…

So here’s the scoop: around November, I changed my unlimited mobile data plan to what I thought was an unlimited tethering plan, so that I could hook my Blackjack II smartphone up to my laptop and use it as my modem. Bear in mind the unlimited misunderstanding was not an oversight on my part, I was told that it was unlimited by an AT&T salesman.

Looking For Daddy Blogger Friends? Look No Further Than Dad-Blogs.com!

dblogoAs a Daddy Blogger, I’ve gotten frustrated lately that it’s fairly hard to find fellow Daddy Bloggers. Every few months or so I GoogleDaddy Blogs‘ for something interesting. Today I hit the mother, er, fatherload:

I found dad-blogs.com.

Dad-blogs.com is an online community designed for and by bloggers who happen to be fathers. I really enjoy this site and am proud to be a member of it. I can really see the potential for dad-blogs to become THE central hub for daddy bloggers online. In just a couple of months, they’ve already attracted the likes of Wayne Parker, daddy blogger from about.com, so you know they’re gaining clout!

The Dragon Hunters crew look for the 'World Gobbler' as their planet crumbles around them.

The Dragon Hunters crew look for the 'World Gobbler' as their planet crumbles around them.

It seems that it’s always on the weekend that I post about children’s entertainment. That’s probably because that’s when we generally watch movies!

Last night’s selection was ‘Dragon Hunters‘, a French computer generated feature film originally titled ‘Chasseurs De Dragons’.
