More Apartment Hunting in Avon, CO

OK. Here’s the deal. Anything remotely within our budget close to work is going to be a one bedroom. I started expecting that and braced myself for it. Last night we went to see a loft in Eagle that would run about $900/mth. It wasn’t one bedroom. It was one room. It had a range and microwave but no oven, a couple of closets and that’s about it. The funniest part? The doorknobs to the closets were toddler height! Calli had a blast running in and out and hiding from/with her sister. But that was the highlight.

Adventures in Apartment Hunting in Avon, CO (In December, no less! *Gulp!*)

I moved to Avon, CO from Mid-Missouri about a year and a half ago. I still haven’t acclimated. I’m not talking about the height of roughly 8,000 feet above sea level. No, my ears have fully popped and I no longer get nauseous when I drive the windy roads that take me, well, anywhere.

No, what I still have a hard time with is the cost. Remember when Senator John McCain stuttered and stammered when he tried to say he was tired of paying four dollars a gallon for gas? In the ‘high country’ we were paying nearly five. At Costco. Love the dollar menu at Wendy’s? Here, that double stack will run you $1.39. Don’t get me started on $8.02 at McDonald’s for breakfast!
