WAM! POW! Batman: The Brave and the Bold Delivers a Family Punch!

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

I have already reviewed Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but at that time, I had only seen one episode. That was over a year ago, and as I’ve continued to watch the show, I’ve become more enthralled with it’s family atmosphere. Not just in the ‘no one cusses or makes a lot of innuendos’ sort of family atmosphere, but a genuine sense of family among the characters.

Batman makes a pretty good tiger, don't ya think?

Batman makes a pretty good tiger, don't ya think?

We had a great time last night, and thank goodness for the extra hour’s sleep! (Not that I got to bed at a decent hour, mind you, Calli was too wound up for that…)

Before I regale you with our tales of Ghoulish adventure, however, I need to give you a little background…

For a few weeks now, the Justice League have been living in our house. Calli has decided that she is the Flash, Mommy is Hawkgirl, Kat is Wonder Woman, Tristin is Batman, and I am Superman. She addresses us accordingly, making for some great lines when taken out of context:

Special Comic Book Review: ‘Iconic’

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Recently, through the magic of social networking, I came across an organization called the Comicbook Artist’s Guild. They are an organization of comic book professionals and beginners that get together for the sheer love of comics.

Their first anthology comic: Iconic, will be formally released at the MoCCA fest in New York City, being held June 6 and 7, but they were nice enough to let me peer inside it’s pages beforehand so that I can tell you a little bit about it.

Batman Deserves Your Respect!

OK, maybe not THIS Batman! ;P

OK, maybe not THIS Batman! ;P

*Deep breath* Ok, I’m hearing talk out there that Batman is not a Super Hero because he does not possess super powers.

*Exhale*

As calmly as I can, please allow me to put this argument to bed.

Batman is the one super hero you could actually be. You’ll never be rocketed to Earth from Krypton. You’ll never happen to be standing by certain chemicals when they’re struck by lightning. You’ll never be given a ring that projects your will. You won’t be bitten by a radioactive/bio-engineered spider. As far as we know, Gamma radiation just causes cancer. In some instances, Gamma can be used to treat cancer, but it’s also the deadliest radiation released from atomic bombs. So forget all that.

Kevin Dilmore Commented On My Blog!

Today was really crappy. Super crappy. I mean, it couldn’t have gotten worse if Murphy himself showed up, slapped me around a bit and screamed his law in my face. It was seriously that bad. I was so depressed and mopey when I got home that my wife, empathic soul that she is, immediately felt depressed and mopey too. A few minutes before Heroes started, my wife got a phone call and left the room. Not wanting to watch one of my favorite shows without my favorite companion, I hit record, changed the channel on the T.V., and sulked some more.

Batman Returns to Camp With ‘Brave and the Bold’

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

I just caught an episode of ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold‘. I am a lifetime Batman fan, and have watched him evolve for what seems my entire life. After Frank Miller‘s ‘Dark Knight Returns‘, Tim Burton‘s Batman films, Batman: The Animated Series, and the current bat-film franchise, I thought that we had moved past the Adam West era of campy Batman. Turns out Warner Bros. animation wanted to give it another try with ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’.
