X-Files: I Want to Believe (Almost as much as I wanted to like this movie)

Is this the Fanboy confessional booth? ‘Cause I’ve got a whopper. I call myself a science fiction fan. I enjoy pondering the supernatural. But I’m not a huge X-Files fan. And I’m really not a fan of the X-Files films.
Truly, someone needs to explain to me why I should enjoy this latest installment in the lives of Dana Sculley and Fox Mulder. I think it was purely to provide the fans with closure. Finally, FINALLY we get some kind of happy ending for the pair. Fans of the show have waited to see these two be a couple since the show’s inception. I never really got it. They’re a lot more fun to watch argue about whether that giant space ship really did just break through the ice and almost kill them than to watch them get all sappy.
